Dating! The trio talks about how cystic fibrosis may complicate things in a person’s dating life. From social acceptability, telling someone new about the disease to the visual appearance of g-tube or medi-port, dating with CF can bring about some awkward moments. Gunnar tells the story of a time when his feeding tube exploded in the middle of the date, while Lea’ follows up with a tale of a time when a guy she was dating thought her medi-port was something sinister. Ultimately the group agrees that while dating with CF can be a challenge, it’s totally possible and something that can be a valuable addition to a patient’s support system.
