To answer, Julia and I go back into our bag of memories and pick out a few experiences to share. Admittedly, I’ve only had a few hospitalizations in my life (knock on wood, I’d like to keep it that way), simply because I do my IV antibiotics at home whereas Julia has had a few more routine inpatient visits than I. But… There have been moments when I’ve needed to get help quickly and those are the memories I look to.
Julia on the other hand talks about a series of hospitalizations she had when she was young, which that led her to recognize the significance of cystic fibrosis. She also shares a story about the time she had a partially collapsed lung.
